Dr. Matthew Hale received two Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science and Mathematics) from the University of Tulsa (TU) in 2010, a Master’s in 2011 and a PhD in 2014. At TU Dr. Hale developed a strong background in Software Engineering principles and specialized in the design of secure and resilient cloud-based web applications providing rich intuitive user interfaces.
Working with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Dr. Hale’s dissertation focused on the creation of formal certification tools to provide information assurance capabilities to cloud-based information systems in a way that spans federal government and private regulatory documents. This work produced a formal verification language called Cloud X-UNITY and an interchangeable XML Scheme for Security SLA specification called SecAgreement.
Dr. Hale joined the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) on August 15, 2014 as Assistant Professor of Information Assurance in the School of Interdisciplinary Informatics, College of Information Science and Technology. His research interests lie at the intersection of software engineering, security, and web services. He is currently involved in research on mobile application security, particularly hybrid apps, and wearable computing.
